Today, I received a “catalog gift” as a commemorative gift from a student who graduated from university.

今日、大学を卒業した学生から記念に「カタログギフト」をいただきました。

I am very pleased by it.

とても嬉しいです。

A catalog gift is a kind of gift which the receiver can choose his/her favorite items from a catalog listing various products.

カタログギフトとは、さまざまな商品が掲載されたカタログから、好きなものを選んで受け取ることができる形のギフトです。

Having said all that, I now have one of these catalogs.

すなわち、私の手元には今、カタログがあります。

When I choose one of them and send an application card, the gift will be delivered to me.

そこから欲しい物を選んでハガキを出すと、手元にその商品が届くというわけです。
