確かに、この言葉の語源を考えると、今のご時世では使うのをためらう人もいるかもしれません。
ただ、個人的には、とてもポジティブな響きと意味を持つことわざだと思っており、聞いて不快になる人はほとんどいないのではないかと思います。このことわざに「出産」のイメージはほあまり無く、単に、「悩んでないで挑戦してみよう」「心配しないで、きっと大丈夫だよ」くらいの意味合いで使われることが多いです。
男性が妊娠中の女性に言うときだけ、注意が必要かもしれません。
